Materials & Care
It is the old-world method of tanning hides using natural tannins found in tree barks (like oak and chestnut) rather than harsh chromium chemicals. We use Full-Grain leather, which is the outermost layer of the hide. It is the strongest, most water-resistant grade available. Unlike "Genuine Leather" (which is often scraps glued together), our leather retains the natural grain and imperfections of the animal, ensuring no two pieces look exactly alike.
Yes, and it is intentional. Vegetable-tanned leather requires a "break-in" period, much like a good pair of denim or boots. It will arrive stiff but will soften and mold to your use over weeks. Small markings are the hallmarks of a natural hide, not a defect. They prove the leather hasn't been sanded down or coated in plastic.
Patina is the sheen and darkening that develops on high-quality leather over time due to oxidation, oils from your hands, and sunlight. Your Elatheria piece will likely darken and become richer in color the more you use it. We consider this the leather's way of telling your story.
Our wood is kiln-dried and sealed, but it is a natural material that breathes. Avoid leaving wooden items in extreme heat (like a hot car dashboard) or submerged in water. A light application of furniture wax or natural oil once a year will keep the grain vivid and protected.
Customization & Origin
Absolutely. Because we make our goods by hand, we can easily incorporate personal touches. We offer hot-stamping for initials and laser engraving for intricate logos or corporate gifts. Please select the "Personalization" option on the product page. Note: Custom-engraved items are final sale.
Every single stitch is placed by hand in our workshop in Pakistan. We are proud of our region's centuries-old history of leather craftsmanship. We do not use assembly lines; individual artisans manage the construction of your item from the first cut to the final burnish.
We use the traditional Saddle Stitch method. A sewing machine uses a "lock stitch," where two threads loop around each other. If one loop breaks, the whole seam can unravel. Saddle stitching involves two needles passing completely through the leather in opposite directions. It is stronger, more durable, and impossible to replicate with a machine.
We are not a fast-fashion house. While we keep some stock of popular items (like the Log Carrier), many pieces are finished to order. Please allow 2-5 business days for production before your item is handed to the courier.
Shipping & Warranty
We build gear to last generations. Our warranty covers any defects in craftsmanship, hardware failure (broken rivets/buckles), or stitching failure for the lifetime of the product. It does not cover accidental damage (like your dog chewing the strap) or cosmetic wear and tear, which we view as beautiful aging.
Yes, we ship globally. We use premium tracked services (DHL, FedEx, or UPS) to ensure your package arrives safely, whether you are in New York, London, or Sydney.
